Dynamometers for Wind Turbine Testing

High Torque, Low Inertia Dynamometers Necessary for Wind Generator Testing

Many options for high torque, low inertia dynamometers are available among the many Midwest and Dynamatic eddy current models.

High Torque and Wide Range in Horsepower

The Midwest 932 series, shown at right, offers models that range from 775 to 6,000 horsepower and from 12,000 to 31,500 ft. lb. of torque. High torque is a critical requirement in wind generator testing.

Tandem Eddy Current Dynamometers - Test One Large or Two Smaller Devices

Tandem dynamometers can test a wide range of motorsTest a wide range of motors with one or both dynamometers

Flexibility is the key feature of tandem dynamometer fixtures which are able to test a very wide range of electric motors or internal combustion engines. When coupled, the particular model pictured can test up to a 1,400 hp device at 600 to 3,600 rpm. When uncoupled, one of the single dynamometers can safely test motors or engines from 70 to 700 hp.

This is just one example. Most models can be configured in tandem.
