Even the largest dry-gap eddy current dynamometer models can be configured for testing devices with vertical shafts. This means that you also have the option of having the dynamometer set up for testing both horizontally and vertically.

Applications

The Midwest Dynamometer model 3232 shown at left is being used for vertical and horizontal testing of nuclear power plant cooling pump motors. The Dynamatic Model 8120 shown at right is used for vertical testing of rebuilt submarine motors.
