Shown are the 5 HP Midwest model 3HS and the 4,000 HP Midwest Model 932.
Virtually any Dry Gap eddy current dynamometer model can be configured for vertical shaft testing. This is the Dynamatic model DM8120, rated at 300 Hp, with 37.0 lb-ft² of inertia, max torque of 1,432 ft-lb, base speed at 1,100 RPM and max speed 6,000 RPM. With chain lift system to raise and lower the unit.
The Midwest 3HS, is rated at a constant 5 horsepower from base speed 3,600 RPM to max speed 19,000 RPM, with 0.044 lb.-ft.² inertia and max. torque of 7.3 ft.-lb.
Versatile, multi-position portable cart designed to test motors or engines up to 40 HP at their real-life angle of operation. Only a few of the possible positions are shown. Two-position 75 HP cart also available, next photo.
This two-position tilt stand is rated for 3 to 75 hp, and can be configured with one of several Midwest, Dynamatic or Dymond Series AC dynamometer models.
This remanufactured tilt stand is rated at 30 hp.
Midwest Model 6H wet gap eddy current dynamometer with optional electric starter (on left) that eliminates the need to install starters on engines under test. Starter is available on certain models. The 6H is rated at 250 Hp, inertia of 26 lb.ft.² , torque of 656.5 ft.lb., base speed 2,000 rpm and max speed 6,000 rpm.
Model DM8082, Wet Gap, rated at 275 HP, with 5.2 lb. ft.² inertia; 3,800 to 8,000 RPM speed range, and max 380 ft.-lb. torque.
Model DM2025DG, Dry Gap, rated at 700HP, with 698 lb.ft.² inertia; 600 to 3,600 RPM speed rating, and max 6,127 ft.-lb. torque. For applications requiring high torque at low speeds. Pressurized lubrication system used on this unit, enabling it to be angled up to 15 degrees for tractor PTO testing. In lieu of pedestal mounting, this unit is mounted in a trunnion-box design, providing a smaller overall footprint.
Model DM2025HS, Dry Gap, rated at 700HP, with 698 lb.ft.² inertia; 600 to 4,500 RPM speed rating, and max 6,127 ft.-lb. torque
The Dynamatic 2025, shown with optional foot mount, is available in several standard (max speed 3,600 RPM) and high-speed (max speed 4,500 RPM) models ranging from 700 to 2,200 horsepower.
Tandem dynamometers can be used together or separately. This particular setup is designed to test devices from 700 to 1400 HP.
Turbine engine test system utilizes a 10:1 speed increaser to achieve 30,000 RPM with a maximum absorbing power capacity of 4,000 HP at dyno speeds from 1,500 RPM to 3,000 RPM.
Virtually any Dry Gap model can be configured for vertical shaft testing, including the largest models.
The 2,000 HP Midwest base Model 932 can be joined in modular fashion to multiply the horsepower rating. Shown is a 5,000 HP 932-6.
The optional cooling package provides built-in safeties and coolant monitoring and normally includes solenoid and strainer; flow, pressure and temperature switches; and modulating valve. The package shown includes the EWC-1 electronic coolant flow control valve in place of the modulating valve.
MW-2025-3 is rated at 2,200 Hp, with 698 lb-ft² of inertia, 8,888 ft-lb of torque, and speeds of 1,300/3,600 RPM. Also shown is the calibration arm (front), with weights not shown.
MW-512 is rated at 500 Hp, with 65 lb-ft² of inertia, 1,501 ft-lb of torque, and speeds of 1,750/6,000 RPM.
Dynamatic 2025-2 is rated at 1,800 Hp, with 698 lb-ft² of inertia, 8,594 ft-lb of torque, and speeds of 1,100/3,600 RPM (max speed 4,500 on the High Speed model).
Two DM2025-2 wet gap eddy current dynamometers with mirrored construction will be paired together for transmission testing.
Wet-gap Midwest model 1014W with fully optioned dynamometer coolant safety package. The 1014W is rated at 250 Hp, with speeds of 2,500 to 6,000 rpm (10,000 in the high-speed model), inertia of 15.7 lb-ft² and max torque of 525 ft.-lb.
